The community champion approach is based on using active community members who draw on their local knowledge, skills, and life experience to promote project implementation and improving the conditions in their local community. The Community Champion Profile
The ideal Caritas Lesotho community champion is aged 21-45, stable family, basic education, known and respected in the community, skilled in arithmetic and communication, mobilization, and sensitivity. They embody a positive attitude, independence, and community focus, with prior engagement, project awareness, and understanding of local needs.
Community Champion Responsibilities
The Caritas Lesotho Community Champion holds several key responsibilities, including community sensitization and mobilization for project understanding, involving the community in project activities, forming and nurturing various groups (like savings, farmers, and resource user groups), facilitating group training.

Field Agent selection criteria
Field agents are chosen for their experience, local understanding, communication skills, adaptability, and teamwork. Technical competence, ethical conduct, and effective time management are crucial, as is cultural sensitivity. Resilience, language proficiency, and valid licenses, as needed, contribute to their success in community engagement and data collection.
Certification of Field Agents
Field agent certification entails training, assessments, and evaluations to ensure their competence.
